PRODUCT SPECS

SIZE
AIRDEX Pallets are available in several standard sizes
as indicated in the product information section. Custom
sizes are more readily provided through the AIRDEX process
than any other manufacturing method. This offers short-run
facilities for special size applications faster and
at less cost than conventional alternatives. Typically
all tooling is cost justified at 10,000 pcs. See
SPECIFIC PALLET SPECS for ready available
pallets.

WEIGHTS
The AIRDEX PALLETS currently in production range in
weight from 6.1 pounds for the super-lightweight AD4343-ISOAF
to 7.2 pounds for the AD4048-AF US Air Freight Model.
Fire Retardant models can range up to 11lbs for 40 x
48 sizes. See other section of this page for more product
information.

COMPOSITION
The outer skin of the AIRDEX PALLET™ is made of
EPA/FDA/Medical Certified high-impact polystyrene (HIPS).
This gives the pallet a tough, sanitary, non-porous,
non-absorbent, completely washable surface free of nesting
places for insects, rodents, disease, mold or mildew.
The inner core is composed of lightweight expanded
polystyrene (EPS), which is a natural insulator. This
makes the AIRDEX PALLET™ extraordinarily light,
shock absorbent and an excellent choice for your fragile
or temperature-sensitive products. A Fire-retardant
coating option is available which carries a UL-94-V0
rating and offers additional durability and strength
as well.

WASHABLE
To clean, simply hose off with plain water
or mild detergent and water.

LOADS
Individual load ratings are indicated
in the SPECIFIC PALLET SPECS
section of this web page. Safe Working Load capacities
are a combination of factors including load distribution
and standards of care used by equipment operators.

TESTING
AND COMPLIANCE
Complies with ASTM D1185 and ISO 6780 and AS
4068-1997; AS 2070, Part 3; USA Standard FDA Title
21, Section 177 - 1640; UK Standard BPF, Revision
1986. Medical grade certified. AIRDEX pallets have
been tested by Michigan State University School of
Packaging testing laboratories.

ENVIRONMENTAL
BENEFITS
AIRDEX pallets are totally recyclable.
The AIRDEX PALLET™ carries the international
100% Recyclable symbol because it is made of 100%
polystyrene. And because it is made entirely without
wood, no forests are destroyed in its manufacture.
US forests are CURRENTLY under
attack by "hitchhiking" exotic insects,
fungi and pathogens. Crates, pallets and other types
of soft wood packaging containers are "pathways"
by which these destructive organisms enter the US
and could decimate our precious natural wood resources.
There are many new import and export regulations now
(or soon to be in effect) that prohibit the use of
